Luleå Hockey was founded in 1977 as a merger between local clubs. In 1984 the club qualified for the top league in Sweden - SHL - and has remained a member ever since. Swedish Champions in 1996 and a member of the European Trophy / Champions Hockey League since 2011. Women's hockey in the top league in Sweden - SDHL - since 2015. Swedish champions in 2016 and 2018.
