Overview

Our mission is to make available, on a single website, the entire intellectual legacy of Rabbi Jacobs. Additionally to promote theological scholarship, learning, debate, dialogue and practice. We aim to publish most of Rabbi Jacobs writings’ (including books, articles, essays, reviews and sermons) together with archived video footage on the website. The text to be searchable so that strands of thought and guidance on issues spanning the years can be brought together. For the past 50 years Anglo-Jewry has been affected by the controversy surrounding Rabbi Jacobs’s views. The site is also recording the history of events and thoughts through thousands of press cuttings, letters and unpublished information. The Friends and Foundation is promoting the teaching and practice of Judaism in a non-fundamentalist manner reconciling tradition with modern thought and scholarship. It hosts and promotes events on Jewish theology and the social and political aspects of the development of Judaism in the UK and worldwide to forge links with other like-minded educational organisations. Longer term we expect to publish major collaborations on Jewish theology.
