Lipman Family Prize

Overview

The Barry & Marie Lipman Family Prize, administered by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, recognizes and amplifies the work of organizations creating sustainable solutions to significant social and economic challenges — with an emphasis on transferability and impact of practices. This is the 12th year of the annual, global prize that includes an unrestricted cash award of $250,000 to the grand prize winner, and $125,000 to each of two additional winners, as well as a non-monetary award package of educational opportunities and other supports from both Wharton and the greater University of Pennsylvania community. The Lipman Family Prize is made possible through a generous gift from Barry and Marie Lipman, and reflects their own strong commitment to socially responsible organizations and action. The Prize engages faculty, staff, and students from across the University's 12 undergraduate and graduate schools. The work of the Prize resides within the Wharton's McNulty Leadership Program and is conducted with the support of other university institutes like the Center for High Impact Philanthropy.
