Overview

Founded in 1975, The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Community Center of Greater Cleveland (The Center) is a leading non-profit organization that empowers Northeast Ohio’s LGBTQ community through advocacy, education, collaboration and celebration. The Center is a one-stop hub that provides a welcoming and visible place that brings the community together for resources, support, connections and programming. The organization also serves as the public face and advocate for the LGBTQ community. To spread awareness of the LGBTQ community, The Center offers Diversity Training Workshops which combine cultural competency with focused interventions to create a space that is more open and affirming to LGBTQ-identified individuals. Whether that space is an office or an individual’s immediate surroundings, the purpose of the workshops are facilitating the essential work of inclusion. With standard trainings like LGBT 101 and SafeZone, you and your organization can join the growing number of professionals in Northeast Ohio that have participated in these workshops. Looking for something more specific in your training? Customizable options are available to meet the needs of each audience. In addition, The Center has the important role of social connector, hosting year-round gatherings, public events and cultural programs that unite, honor and celebrate the LGBTQ community. Through leadership within the community, media representation and collaborations, as well as cultural competency trainings outside the community, The Center aims to improve the quality of life in Northeast Ohio.
