Overview

Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile is the consortium of the clubs participating in the Serie A1 and Serie A2 women's volleyball championships in Italy. Founded in 1987, it is based in Milan. The League has the primary purpose of promoting and coordinating the development of top volleyball in the context of the directives and regulations of the FIPAV (Italian Volleyball Federation) and of managing the interests of the Clubs entitled to participate in the Serie A1 and Serie A2 women's volleyball championships, with particular care for the consolidation of the image of the top female volleyball in Italy in relations with the media, with the world of industrial and commercial enterprises with the qualified components of the entire national and international volleyball movement, in the organization of events in which the women's Serie A teams and their respective athletes, to represent the consortium members in the negotiation and management of collective image rights in television and OTT. The Women's Serie A Championships are universally recognized as being of the highest technical level and most competitive, for the economic-financial organization of the clubs and for the presence of the biggest Italian and international stars. In the 2019-20 season the Women's Serie A Championship can boast the three winners of the European Cups of the previous season, as well as the reigning World Champion team.
