Overview
Sahaja Yoga is a unique method of meditation based on an experience of the awakening of one's inner energy, called Self Realization. Through this process an inner Transformation takes place by which one becomes moral, united, integrated and balanced. This awakening also leads to spontaneously achieving a calmer state of mind called “thoughtless awareness”, a state when your mind is not bogged down by irrelevant thoughts from past events or future planning, but stays in the present moment. And it is in this present moment without thoughts, without any worry, without any anger, one experiences mental silence. It has been proven well by scientific research! This is the actualization of such transformation, which is taking place now, worldwide, and has been proved and experienced by thousands in over 100 countries. SahajaYoga was founded by Dr. Nirmala Srivastava who is also known as Shri Mataji in reverence. She studied medicine and psychology at the Christian Medical College in Ludhiana and the Balakram Medical College in Lahore. In 1947, shortly before India's independence, she married Chandrika Prasad (CP) Srivastava, a high-ranking civil servant who later worked as principal secretary to the then Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri. Shri Mataji led a normal household life and in 1970 founded SahajaYoga Meditation and for next 40 years travelled across the globe to spread it. She is remembered by Her words of wisdom, "You cannot know the meaning of life until you are connected to the power that created you". Benefits of Sahajayoga meditation include- 1. Stress relief 2. Improved concentration 3. Peace of mind 4. Cultivation of different art forms 5. Mental, physical balance 6.
