Overview

The Law Students’ Society, Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, is the umbrella student body in charge of affairs pertaining to the welfare of all undergraduate law students in the University of Lagos with a membership of 2,300 students across 5 levels of study with a mandate to see to the academic, professional, social, economic and spiritual development of all undergraduate law students. The main aim of The Law Students’ Society is; • To promote friendly relationship with other law faculties/students, legal institutions, law firms and other educational bodies within and outside Nigeria whose aims are acceptable to the Society. • To promote the intellectual, social and cultural activities of the members irrespective of social, religious or ethnic backgrounds, and inculcate into all members, the ethics and behavior that is expected of members of the legal profession • To organize class tutorials, essay competitions, court visitations, debates and chambers attachments, moot courts and mock trials, law dinners, talent shows, career fairs, exchange programs, annual lectures and other programs or projects beneficial to law students which aid their academics and career prospects. • To promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through awareness and embarking on projects to achieve a better world by 2030. • To be at the forefront of the propagation of freedom, human rights, justice and equality of all people and to inculcate such principles in the hearts and minds of students of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos.
