Overview

KS Energy is a power generation and asset management company established in Botswana in 2008 by TUTEN, a power project development services company based in Istanbul, Turkey. KS Energy has been appointed by the Botswana Power Corporation as Asset Manager for a 90MW dual fuel gas/diesel power plant that entered commercial operation at the Orapa diamond mine 15Aug11. KS Energy is responsible for all aspects of O&M including insurance and fuel quality management. KS Energy has a multinational team of experts manning the plant with demonstrated plant availability over 98.5%. KS Energy offers full 3rd party O&M services throughout Africa. In 2014 KS Energy signed contracts to serve as construction Project Managers on behalf of an IPP in Nigeria for a 3x GE LM2500+ 75MW simple cycle gas turbine power plant that was built and commissioned in Port Harcourt River State, and a 3x SIEMENS SGT500 simple cycle gas turbine power plant currently being built for BUA Cement in Okpella, Edo State in Nigeria. KS Energy is also providing O&M services for the BUA Cement power station. KS Energy has recently been appointed as asset manager (full operations and maintenance scope) to Xaris Energy’s 250 MW 6x GE LM6000 power plant in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The project is expected to achieve financial close in late 2017 with commercial operation in 2019. KS Energy's newest initiative is to develop hybrid power generation solutions utilizing low cost solar PV and gas/LNG fueled gas turbine/engine simple and combined cycle for peaking, mid-merit and off-grid needs. KS Energy is active in tenders in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Ghana and Nigeria and as an IPP for distributive (up to 300MW) projects that use creative fuel solutions such as LNG, coal-bed methane (CBM), LPG/Butane, naphtha and syngas produced from the gasification of solid fuels such as low grade lignite/coal and coal discards that remain after the ash-washing beneficiation process.
