My mission is to help military service men and women file their taxes with ease, optimize savings, and gain confidence and peace of mind year after year at tax time. I served in the USMC as a Marine, and then again later as a Family Readiness Officer, helping families connect with the resources they need in order to thrive while serving in the military. I have a deep understanding of the struggles and ever-changing nature of military life, so if your family is growing or you’re moving out of state, and you’re finding that taxes are becoming more complicated than they used to be, I’m uniquely qualified to help. My credentials include a MPA (Master of Public Administration), and I’m going for a second Master’s Degree in Taxation at American University in Washington, D.C. I completed the HR Block Income Tax School in 2014, and have been preparing tax returns for military families ever since. I’ve also done tax-related work at the state government level, when I served as a Treasury Analyst for the Michigan Department of Treasury Collections Division. When you work with me, you can expect follow-through and responsiveness. I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to try to get help from various departments on military bases. “Well I can’t help you because you don’t have [X form] or [X document] or [X signature] or [X clearance]." Many of my military clients tell me they like working with me because I take the initiative to follow through, find answers, and take action on their behalf. The biggest issue that affects you right now is the new tax law that just got passed. Standard deductions are different, exemptions are gone, it’s all new.
