My name is Valerie, I own and operate Kicking Assets Bookkeeping LLC. Which specializes in bookkeeping services and is aimed towards small to medium sized businesses in Yakima, WA and surrounding areas. I graduated from Perry Tech in 2009, where I received my Automotive Certificate. Which allowed me to gain over ten years' of customer service experience and automotive knowledge from working in the automotive industry. Bonus, that's also where I met my husband. Since then, we have shared the goal of opening up an automotive shop. Fast forward to 2018, I enrolled at Perry again, but this time in the Business Technology & Accounting program. I originally enrolled to gain knowledge in exactly the name of the program, business, technology, & accounting. The goal was to use it towards starting the automotive shop with my husband, but that dream has been put on the back burner for quite some time. During my time at Perry I developed a passion for bookkeeping, more specifically using QuickBooks. On that note, I made sure to learn as much as I could about QuickBooks and bookkeeping while I was there. I received a certification in QuickBooks, started my bookkeeping business in April of 2019, and I graduated from the program with my AA in June of 2019. As you all know, here comes 2020 with all its glory, where most things came to a screeching halt. I ended up homeschooling my two boys because, remote learning and started learning more about working remotely from home as a bookkeeper. Working remotely has given me the opportunity to continue homeschooling this year. I'm continuing to expand my knowledge on how to work efficiently and productively from home. I've also learned many new things that I don't necessarily want to know, like Fortnite, YouTube videos, and many other little boy related things. Haha. For now, I'm just kicking assets and taking new clients.
