Overview
KNATCOM, is a State Corporation with an international focus that executes a dual function of serving both Kenya and UNESCO. Kenya Joined UNESCO in 1964 as its 73rd Member and thereafter established the National Commission for UNESCO as required by the UNESCO Constitution. In accordance with the Charter for National Commissions for UNESCO of 1978, the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) became a State Corporation in January 2013 following the enactment of the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO Act 2013. The Commission has five (5) core programmes namely: Education, Natural Sciences, Social and Human Sciences, Culture, and Communication and Information. As the focal point for all UNESCO programmes and activities in Kenya Our role is to involve in UNESCO’s activities, the various ministries, departments, agencies, institutions, organizations and individuals working for the advancement of Education, Natural Sciences, Social and Human Sciences, Culture, and Communication and Information.
