Overview

Since 1997, the non-profit organisation K.E.E.P.E.A. "Orizontes", contributes to the support of the daily life of People with Intellectual Disabilities and their families, providing lifelong and Adult education tailored to their needs and desires, support for their autonomous living and labour market integration services. Having completed more than twenty years of dedication and contribution in the field of Special Education, we have been operating since 2013 a Day Care Centre for children and youths, with a capacity of 104 People with intellectual Disabilities. In 2018 our organisation set up and operated our first Supported Living housing "Open Horizons-Mary Vrettou". This service is fully interconnected with the Day Care Centre of our Institution while, in parallel with social cooperative entrepreneurship initiatives, we support the employment of People with Mental Disabilities as equal members of society. Our organisation employs 40 permanent members of staff (technical, administrative, health and supportive staff). It is part of our vision to actively pursue the fulfilment of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. With the assistant of our network of expert volunteers and network of organisations, we are active in promoting sport inclusion in several sports. We are also actively promoting our arts initiatives through our art and crafts workshops as well as therapy through arts. We are active in work placements and labour integration of people with intellectual disabilities, through Social Cooperatives initiatives. Charity Registration No: 1506/30.6.98
