The Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä is an interest group and a service organization dedicated to the students of the University of Jyväskylä. It dates back to 1934, when the Student Union of the College of Education was founded. The core task of the Student Union is to advocate students’ rights and interests at the University and in the society at large. The Student Union produces high-quality services for its 12,500 members. Student Union business unit Soihtu produces high quality housing services and runs Ilokivi Student Restaurant at the heart of the campus.
