Overview

A Pioneer in Intercultural Management Education JAIMS is a non-profit educational institution that develops “knowledge leaders.” Knowledge leaders are those who harness and leverage personal and organizational knowledge and creativity for high performance and achievement of goals. JAIMS (pronounced “James”) is an acronym for Japan-America Institute of Management Science. We help students develop their global mindset, intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence, and phronetic leadership skills (i.e., leadership via “practical wisdom”) through academic and short-term programs. JAIMS develops knowledge leaders from all countries who will cross timelines and geographical boundaries to effectively build organizations, conduct business, and improve the communities around them. Fujitsu Limited, a leading provider of customer-focused IT and communications solutions for the global marketplace, established JAIMS in 1972 in the Honolulu suburb of Hawaii Kai. An administrative office in Tokyo provides recruiting support to JAIMS. MISSION JAIMS' mission is to contribute to human capital and community development in the Asia-Pacific region through knowledge co-creation by educating and training individuals to be effective leaders in an increasingly interdependent global society. VISION JAIMS' vision is to be a premier institute in intercultural management education, emphasizing knowledge-based leadership.
