Overview
In the College of Information Sciences and Technology, we are driven to solve problems that impact everyday lives where information, technology, and people intersect. We blend skills in information technology with knowledge from business, communications, engineering, psychology, and countless other domains to offer a truly interdisciplinary education for associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. We provide a student-centric approach based in real-world scenarios, allowing us to deliver an education that adapts to the constantly changing information technologies that are transforming the way we work, communicate, socialize, and play. We conduct innovative research focused on topics like artificial intelligence, big data, cognitive science, cybersecurity, health and social informatics, and human-centered design to provide scholarly insights and facilitate discovery. We have grown and matured significantly since opening our doors in 1999. Now, we welcome more than 2,200 resident students; 1,000 students taking courses online through Penn State World Campus; and more than 150 faculty members, who provide instruction, service, and mentorship. Through innovative research, multidisciplinary graduate programs, and a rapidly evolving undergraduate curriculum, we are taking on the greatest challenges of the information age.
