Overview
IRU is a charity dedicated to supporting victims of Islamophobia. We provide free legal guidance, basic emotional support, referrals to partner agencies, and signposting to other services. We conduct data monitoring on Islamophobia across the country. We then use this data to raise awareness about Islamophobia. We work with various organisations including, police, local councils and policy makers. This brings the fight against Islamophobia to the political and legislative arena. The IRU has a conciliatory and advisory approach, determining what legal recourse may be available to each victim on a case by case basis. We seek redress for victims, but also aim to educate and work with organisations to improve cultural sensitivity towards Muslims.
