Overview

The IPWCA was founded January 2016 and began maintaining a permanent office at the beginning of March 2016. From the IPWCA's international headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, it supports continued development, research and application engineering of Pneumatic Solid Waste Collection Systems. Manufacturers, distributors, public and private customers, scientific institutes, approval bodies, as well as private persons are members of the IPWCA. PNEUMATIC SOLID WASTE HANDLING – BACK TO THE FUTURE The basic technology for solid waste vacuum transfer was already brought into use 60 years ago but for many reasons the market was not ready for it. There were no requirements for sorting and recycling waste and hygiene or awareness of energy consumption. Systems were expensive compared to traditional methods. The world has changed and we are finally coming "back to the future". IPWCA FORUM FOR PNEUMATIC SOLID WASTE COLLECTION Today the world has new international protocols and requirements for sustainability, like Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, and the United Nation’s Conference on Climate Change 2015 in Paris, France. The use of new pneumatic solutions has been acknowledged as a highly efficient and very sustainable method for solid waste transportation. A significant amount of research has taken place, which has resulted in the advance of pneumatic solid waste collection systems. Companies in this field have often worked in comparatively isolated locations throughout the world. The intention of the International Pneumatic Waste Collection Association is to provide a forum for experts, manufacturers, users and professionals active in this field, sharing information and knowledge. Working together we can be the leaders in fulfilling the requirements for sustainability and energy efficiency.
