Overview

IPSF represents more than 500,000 pharmacy students and recent graduates in over 100 countries worldwide. IPSF is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious volunteer organisation. IPSF is the leading international advocacy organisation of pharmacy students promoting improved public health through the provision of information, education, networking, and a range of publication and professional activities. The Federation has its secretariat located with the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in The Hague, The Netherlands. IPSF holds Official Relations with the World Health Organization (WHO), Operational Relations with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Roster Consultative Status of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (UN ECOSOC). IPSF African Regional Office (AfRO) was established in the 54th IPSF World Congress held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in August 2008 when its establishment was voted in as a way of tackling the importance of decentralizing IPSF work into regions. The African Regional Office is represented by 24 member organizations (MOs) in 23 countries of which fourteen are full members: 1. Nigeria 2. Ghana 3. Kenya 4. Mali 5. Tanzania 6. South Africa 7. Zimbabwe 8. Liberia 9. DRC 10. Zambia 11. Sierra Leone 12. Uganda 13. Niger 14. Burkina Faso 15. Togo 16. Eswatini 17. Senegal 18. Benin 19. Guinea 20. Cameroon 21. Malawi 22. Mozambique 23. Rwanda The AfRO Regional Office is managed by the Regional Working Group (AfRO RWG) which consists of: 1- Chairperson 2- Secretary 3- Regional Relations Officer (RRO) 4- Regional Media and Publications Officer (RMPO) 5- Regional Projects Officer (RPO) 6- Immediate Past Chairperson 7- Chairperson of the African Pharmaceutical Symposium (AfPS) The IPSF AfRO RWG is a collective of strength, wit and compassion bound together by warrior spirit.
