The International Storytelling Center is a Tennessee not-for-profit corporation with offices in Jonesborough, Tennessee. The mission of the organization is to inspire and empower people everywhere to capture and tell their stories, listen to the stories of others and use storytelling to produce positive change. The International Storytelling Center believes promoting and sharing creative applications of storytelling can build a better world. The Center annually produces the National Storytelling Festival, the internationally acclaimed storytelling event that attracts 9,000 attendees from around the world. Additionally, the organization sponsors live storytelling events and community and educational outreach programs throughout the year. The International Storytelling Center is dedicated to improving the lives of people around the world through the power of storytelling. It is our organization’s goal to inspire and empower people everywhere to capture and tell their stories, listen to the stories of others, and use storytelling to produce positive change. We believe that ultimately, through the power of storytelling, we can build a better world—healthier communities, more effective workplaces and schools of learning to ultimately enriched life.
