Overview

The International Cooperative Alliance-Asia and Pacific (ICA- AP) was established in 1960 in New Delhi (India) and is the Asia-Pacific regional office of the International Cooperative Alliance (Alliance). The Alliance is a non-profit international association established in 1895 to advance the co-operative model. It is the apex organisation for co-operatives worldwide, representing 306 co-operative federations and organisations across 105 countries (figures of November 2017). The members of the Alliance are national level co-operative federations, individual co-operative organisations and government offices concerned with co-operatives. ICA-AP serves 112 members across 31 countries in Asia and Pacific region. It works through thematic and sectoral regional committees on Agriculture, Consumer Cooperation, Credit & Banking, Education, Forestry, Human Resources Development, Research, Trade & Business, Women, and Youth.
