Overview

Intermarket Corporation is an SEC-registered investment adviser based in New York City. The firm was founded in 1969 for the purpose of providing discretionary investment management services to a limited number of sophisticated institutions and individuals. The firm manages certain U.S. and non-U.S. collective investment vehicles designed to meet the needs of U.S. taxable investors, tax-exempt investors and non-U.S. investors. The firm does not manage individual accounts for investors. Intermarket aims to achieve long-term capital appreciation through investment in debt securities, which may include distressed debt investments, with a bias toward investing in senior secured debt securities of companies anticipating or undergoing reorganization. Investments are characterized by their market independence and favorable risk profile. Valuation is based on the cashflow-producing ability of each company and on the assets on which senior debt holders have a claim and on the estimated time frame over which the returns will be realized. Intermarket invests without leverage. The firm may also from time-to-time opportunistically invest in other event-driven investments. Intermarket has achieved superior returns, absolutely and relatively. Limited partners appreciate that these returns have been achieved with a level of risk that the principals of the firm have found acceptable for their own capital. Alongside this alignment of interests, investors have found Intermarket’s commitment and specific approach to distressed investing to be a method of achieving returns independent of market and economic cycles.
