Institute of Thai Studies aim to achieve excellence in creating the body of knowledge and research in Thai-Tai Studies and to build networks in Thai-Tai studies by promoting co-operation and exchange of knowledge in order to support the academic circles both at the national and international levels สถาบันไทยศึกษามีนโยบายมุ่งสู่ความเป็นเลิศด้านการสร้างองค์ความรู้และงานวิจัยไทย-ไทศึกษาและสร้างเครือข่ายทางวิชาการด้านไทย-ไทศึกษา โดยมุ่งให้เกิดการประสานงาน รวมทั้งแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ เพื่อสร้างสรรค์วงวิชาการไทย-ไทศึกษาในระดับชาติและนานาชาติ
