Overview

The Initiative for Social Empowerment (ISE) is an international social enterprise that aims to enable vulnerable groups of women and youth in Europe to break out of the bondage of poverty through technology, education, and entrepreneurship. We empower communities to prosper so that they do not become victims of trafficking, slavery, and social dependency. Our main target groups are disabled people, victims of domestic violence or trafficking, Roma and refugees. Our mission is being accomplished through an innovative approach that makes entrepreneurial training available to the poor at every level of education, including the illiterate, through intuitive, culturally adapted game-based mobile curriuclum platform and through a system that ensures access to global markets and success of the micro enterprises. ISE's pilot project is conducted in Bulgaria where target groups are being trained to start microenterpries specializing in the full-cycle production of a range of wellness herbal products - aroma dolls, aroma bags and bee wax candles. ISE`s products are offered at fairs, festivals or conferences, companies also order as present with a cause for customers and employees. ISE is employing the innovative Saksham methodology developed by the Institute for Social Empowerment through Entrepreneurship and Knowledge (ISEEK)
