‘Microbiota in health and disease: from pregnancy to childhood’ is written with the intention to provide health care professionals, (medical)students and researchers in the field of life sciences with an overview of the most recent advances in the field of infant and child microbiota and their role in pediatric health, disease and prevention. We are delighted to invite you to an evening of clinical learning about this 1st medical book worldwide published on the infant and child microbiotas. On the 30th of November, world-renowned experts in the field of pediatric microbiome research will present the latest scientific findings on infant and child microbiota, based on the chapters of the book. Their theoretical and practical talks will cover: - the interplay between gut microbiota and functional systems of body during infancy; - childhood diseases associated with dysbiosis; - the potential of microbial manipulation using pre- and probiotics.
