Overview

iEthanol is a Brussels-based trade association representing the interests of the producers of ethanol for industrial and beverage purposes. It is a non-profit organisation and complies strictly with Belgian and EU laws. The Association acts as a focused voice for the European industrial and beverage ethanol sector, being produced by fermentation and/or by hydration of ethylene. It is the only European association dedicated to non-fuel use of ethanol, a field of activity where there are many crucial issues ranging from customs and trade implications to classification, chemicals safety, and sustainable development issues. iEthanol's mission is to: - Provide accurate and up-to-date information about ethanol for industrial and beverage uses, and enter into dialogue with all the relevant stakeholders. - Promote and protect the long-term future of the industry in Europe. - Ensure fairness in trade and customs to support the above In this respect, iEthanol provides its Members with (1) a forum for industrial and beverage ethanol producers to meet and discuss European and global developments of a legislative and political nature relating to the production, sale, import-export, development and use of ethanol, and (2) support in taking appropriate political action in defence of industrial and beverage ethanol at European and international level, to ensure that relevant legislative developments take into account the need to maintain fair market conditions across the EU.
