ePURE: European renewable ethanol association

Services for Renewable Energy

Overview

Established in 2010, the European renewable ethanol association (ePURE) represents the interests of European renewable ethanol producers by promoting the beneficial uses of ethanol in Europe. Based in Brussels, ePURE represents 39 member companies, with 43 production plants in 16 EU member states, accounting for about 85% of the installed renewable ethanol capacity in Europe. Our mission is to promote the use of renewable ethanol in Europe by contributing in a constructive and pro-active manner to the development and implementation of EU policies and legislation that benefits both our industry and society. We pursue this by providing expert advice and input to the EU Institutions, Member State Governments, Brussels-based stakeholders and wider society. Ethanol is an important link in the chain for the transition to a European bioeconomy whereby resources are processed and used more efficiently. Using biomass as a sustainable renewable resource is key to replacing carbon fossil sources in the manufacture of chemicals, materials and fuels. More info: http://www.epure.org/
