Overview

The OUCC is the state agency representing Indiana utility consumers. Our mission is to ensure quality, reliable utility services at the most reasonable prices possible through: - Dedicated advocacy, - Consumer education, and - Creative problem solving. Our team includes attorneys, accountants, economists, engineers, and other technical experts. As an independent state agency, the OUCC is the only organization representing residential, commercial and industrial ratepayer interests in all cases before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. Whether a case involves hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of pages of testimony, exhibits and legal arguments, our team goes through the material carefully and diligently as we prepare testimony and legal arguments on behalf of consumer interests. We also participate in Indiana Court of Appeals and Indiana Supreme Court cases involving IURC appeals, and intervene in cases before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission when Indiana consumer interests may be affected. If you have questions about how utility rates are established, please visit our website at www.IN.gov/OUCC. Our site has specific pages on each regulated Indiana utility, including case information and links to key documents. We also offer general information to help consumers know more about their utility services, and offer updates on Facebook and Twitter (@IndianaOUCC).
