Impetus Agriculture was formed with a recognition of the need for transformative solutions to ensure a future with safe and sustainable food to feed a growing planet. The insect pressure forecasts with just small temperature changes in a warming planet threaten our ability to produce enough food to feed the world without dramatic acreage expansion that further contributes to global warming. Transformative solutions means a new kind of technology platform that can develop multiple topical or transgenic insect control products. Products that are safe, effective and sustainable. Products that are not subject to the same insect resistance that has developed in current commercial products. Impetus is developing a new biopesticide based on the historic Bt Proteins proven to be safe, specific and effective. This breakthrough technology will enhance current Bt protein performance, overcome insect resistance, impede further resistance, and protect crops without damaging the environment, people, and non-target insects.
