The Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at SIUE (ITC) provides no-cost export consulting, market research and training solutions for small businesses. During the last five years, the ITC has assisted its clients in the generation of over $160 million in export sales. The ITC supports Illinois businesses in the following areas: a) One-on-one advising sessions / Evaluations of export readiness; b) Access to key foreign market intelligence; c) International business planning; d) Identification of potential export markets, foreign buyers, agents, distributors and partners; e) Trade mission / industry show participation opportunities worldwide; f) Trade lead matching from the U.S. Commercial Service and international partners; g) Trade compliance support, including product classification and free trade agreements; h) Export finance assistance in coordination with the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (EX-IM Bank) and the Small Business Administration (SBA); i) Access to extensive export trade reference material and international databases; j) Customized global connections; k) Seminars, webinars, conferences and in-house training. The ITC is funded through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and SIUE as a service to the region’s entrepreneurial and business communities.
