Overview

Twenty-four years since Nelson Mandela changed the history of South Africa, there remains a dire need for Health, Education resources and Poverty alleviation. NGOs who play a significant role in this transformation provide incredible opportunity to “be the change we wish to see.” iKhaya le Themba was planned to be an orphanage in answer to the AIDS pandemic; however the community of Imizamo Yethu adamantly replied, “it’s not what we need.” “We need a safe place for our children to learn, grow and play.” Today the Home of Hope has become so much more through the empowerment of partnerships with parents, community leaders and surrounding businesses. Visitors from other countries have confirmed the value of #BelievinginHopesandDreams choosing to #bethechange they wish to see in the world. iKhaya’s vision: “We long for a world where every child has hope and a future.” Partnering iKhaya empowers the community of Imizamo Yethu; restores dignity, helps rebuild the hope long devastated by the effects of poverty, disease, trauma and disabilities. Becoming an Ambassador of Hope creates value and impact in our community; giving hope and a future to the next generation.
