Overview

The IEEE EMBS Student Branch of SSN is an initiative to empower its members with exposure to the technological and research advancements in the Biomedical Engineering field by facilitating interaction with domain experts. It is affiliated to IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) which is the World’s Largest International Society of Biomedical Engineers. The parent organization has around 12,000 members who reside in 97 countries around the world. EMBS provides its members with access to the people, practices, information, ideas, and opinions that are shaping one of the fastest-growing fields in science. It encompasses the development of hardware, computational models and algorithms, devices and systems for clinical, industrial and educational applications. Two of the major areas of interest for EMBS include: · Development and application of engineering concepts and methods to biology, medicine and health sciences. · To provide effective solutions to biological, medical and healthcare problems. At the IEEE EMBS Student Branch of SSN, we conduct IEEE recognized events like workshops and other technical events related to the various fields and technological advancements in the biomedical domain.
