Overview

At its core, iChild provides high quality teaching resources from experts to enhance engagement and help implement a rich, diverse curriculum in schools. Our exciting new Captivating Classrooms service for schools has been developed with experienced teachers and leading subject specialists, such as the Geographical Association and the National Association for the Teaching of English (NATE), as well as Professor David Olusoga (watch a message from David here: https://youtu.be/drmHhgUIytc) and scientist and award-winning children's author, Dr Mandy Hartley. The new service follows research with teachers in our network, through which we identified several subjects and topics where additional teaching resources were requested. These included Black British History, Geography (including Climate change), Science (including Evolution and Inheritance), Inspiring a love of reading to engage children in writing, Fractions, Computing (Algorithms and Debugging using unplugged activities), Art and Design, and Design and Technology. We’re now delighted to bring schools fabulous new resources to support the teaching of these subjects, with our new Captivating Classrooms service. We also run powerful education engagement programmes through our network, which comprises over 400,000 adult iChild members (teaching professionals and parents) who care for over 4.2 million children. A recent example was the Heroes Stamp Design Competition which we developed and ran for Royal Mail through primary and secondary schools. An incredible 606,049 school children from 7,479 UK schools entered the competition, which means iChild and Royal Mail were awarded a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest postage stamp design competition. Also, our recent award-winning education programme to support Census 2021 with ONS, which exceeded targets by 17%, with participation from over 9,000 schools, 2.2 million children and 2.1M parents. It won STEM Educational Programme of the Year.
