A Hírközlési és Informatikai Tudományos Egyesület tekintélyes, 71 éves múltjával hazánk infokommunikációs szektorának legpatinásabb szervezetévé vált. Munkássága a távközlési és az informatikai iparágtól, a hagyományos postai szolgáltatásokon át, az internetig és a médiavilágig terjed. Az egyesület közel 60 jogi tagot, valamint közel 900 magánszemélyt számlál. Berkein belül több mint 20 szakmai közösség munkálkodik meghatározott célok érdekében, a legjobb tudása szerint. A HTE amellett, hogy kiemelt, véleményformáló szerepet tölt be a magyar infokommunikációs szakterület szabályozásában, működésében, fejlődésében, hazai és nemzetközi szakmai rendezvények elismert szervezőjeként is jegyzett. in English: Founded in 1949, the Scientific Association for Infocommunications is a voluntary and autonomous professional society of engineers and economists, researchers and businessmen, managers and educational, regulatory and other professionals working in the fields of telecommunications, broadcasting, electronics, information and media technologies in Hungary. Besides its more than 900 individual members, the Scientific Association for Infocommunications (in Hungarian: HÍRKÖZLÉSI ÉS INFORMATIKAI TUDOMÁNYOS EGYESÜLET, HTE) has more than 60 corporate members as well. Among them there are large companies and small-and-medium enterprises with industrial, trade, service-providing, research and development activities, as well as educational institutions and research centers. HTE is a Sister Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and the IEEE Communications Society.
