Hotel Endsleigh

Overview

Designed by Jeffry Wyatville for the 6th Duke of Bedford in 1811, Hotel Endsleigh is a stunning Grade I historic house set in 108 acres of fairytale woodland and surrounded by beautiful gardens, follies, grottos, created by Humphry Repton in 1814. The Duke, who owned a third of Devon, chose this spot of enchanting beauty for his fishing and hunting lodge. Hotel Endsleigh is today one of the most important Regency country houses remaining. Olga Polizzi bought the hotel in 2005 and carefully restored it in the spirit of the regency period, with original pieces and artwork blended with contemporary luxury. Hidden in a secret valley at the edge of the Dartmoor, many of the 16 bedrooms have magnificent views of the gardens, the river Tamar and beyond into Cornwall.
