Overview

HORI (U.K.) Ltd. is the EMEA division of HORI Co., Ltd. (株式会社ホリ), the leading Japanese video game accessory maker. Founded in 1967, the company started off as a manufacturer and supplier of components for video and audio equipment. With the arrival of the 80's, however, it entered a completely new stage as a pioneer in the by then-emerging video game industry. In 1983 it became Nintendo's first licensed accessory partner, a crucial move whose outcome encouraged the company to subsequently establish similar relationships with Sega, Sony, Microsoft, and Apple. At present, HORI focuses fully on the design and manufacture of accessories for consoles. With a dedicated R&D department in its Yokohama HQ, the company keeps challenging preset concepts to make gaming more enjoyable and accessible to everyone, while also creating unique peripherals that appeal to hardcore and niche gaming markets. This pursuit of exclusivity is reinforced by its tight links with the major game publishers, such as Bandai Namco, The Pokémon Company, Konami, Capcom, or Bethesda, amongst others, which allow HORI to create one-of-a-kind products specifically tied to software titles, maximizing the player's immersion in the game world. Since 2004, HORI has expanded its operations globally and now has offices in the US, Hong Kong, and the UK, enabling swift worldwide distribution as well as a deeper interaction with local business partners and gaming communities alike.
