We are an urban design and public space design company, but we also go one step further into the operational aspect of public space, it's activation and placemaking. In that sense, we are a hybrid company that offers both services, design as well as activation. We believe in the idea that cities are complex urban systems that function laterally at multiple scales, and that public space is a major component in that system. Our goal is to transform the urban environment, by setting up public space for urban, economic and social vitality, so that it becomes productive. We work with cities, real-estate developers, designers, and NGOs, to develop unique public-private partnerships. Many city spaces are run-down, under-utilized, or simply just left to decay into a form of urban waste. Hive Public Space approaches these spaces, analyzes them, then strategically designs them to inject new potential and new life for urban transformation.
