Overview

As of 2020, there are over 400,000 migrant domestic workers working in Hong Kong. This large minority group contributes to 3.6% of Hong Kong's GDP, and enables a much larger percentage of female Hong Kong people to enter the workforce. However, time and time again, migrant domestic workers continue to experience countless struggles from insufficient support - in this city they should be able to call "home." HelpBridge aims to eliminate the stigma that workers feel when they ask for help, through a mobile application that serves as a one-stop platform for them to get help, discuss, or help other fellow workers regarding all kinds of topics relevant to their day-to-day experience. Our app provides an all-in-one online platform for migrant domestic workers to ask questions and seek advice from representatives of nonprofits and service organizations; read local news articles and in-app content; and participate in events launched by the community. HelpBridge aims to be the go-to information platform for all migrant workers in Hong Kong. From navigating visa-related problems to understanding ways to improve mental health, we aim to be the #1 digital assistant, empowering migrant workers in the most transparent and accessible ways possible.
