Overview

Community Rail is about integrating stations into their communities and finding out how the railways can best socially and economically support the areas they serve. The Heart of England CRP covers 36 stations over three train lines operating between Birmingham, Coventry, Nuneaton, Leamington Spa, Warwick, and Stratford-Upon-Avon and serves a diverse range of stations, from rural request stops to larger urban stations. It was established to bring together rail industry partners, local authorities, businesses, and communities to help maximise the economic, social, and environmental benefits of the rail network to residents, businesses, and visitors and is funded by Train Operating Companies and Local Authorities. All CRPs follow the four pillars of Community Rail: Providing a voice for the community Promoting sustainable healthy and accessible travel Bringing communities together and supporting diversity and inclusion Support social and economic development We work on a huge variety of projects from working with and supporting stations adopters, to delivering rail safety lessons in schools, to finding new and innovative ways to improving the environment in and around railway stations, and we welcome ideas from and partnership working with our local communities.
