Overview

Common Table Health Alliance (CTHA) is a community-based, multi-stakeholder, nonprofit regional health and health care improvement collaborative serving 1.3 million people in the Greater Memphis metropolitan area. Our mission is to bridge the gap of health inequalities for all communities through trust, education and collaboration. Our vision is to be the catalyst for community improvement in population health and well-being. CTHA engages community partners, including organizations, coalitions, schools, churches, government agencies, businesses and individuals, who are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our region. We aspire to help develop stakeholder awareness, improve public policy and engage citizens across the region in health & wellness, healthy eating and active living. Our strategies are distinctive in their strengths, results-oriented in their processes and have the ability to produce lifestyle changes in our citizens. CTHA has built a brand as a neutral and unique organization. Our approach - to gather people around a "common table" and create conversations that generate regional change - takes advantage of the collective strength of the community to achieve the greater good. The anchor of our work has been to act as a consistent voice in convening the community to address family and childhood obesity, health disparity and chronic disease in our most underserved areas. By focusing on improving community health through prevention, disparity elimination, advocating for policy changes, education, and lifestyle modifications, we have positioned our work as a promising model of health reform and innovation.
