Nyhavna shall be established as a living, attractive and sustainable district in Trondheim with a special focus on developing and using the port area. As a part of achieving these ambitions, the presidency decided to start the pilot projects before the bigger transformations. These pilots will open up and activate Nyhavna in such a way that the city's population will get to know and gain ownership of this "under transformation" area. Establishment of HAVET is an important pilot project for Strandveikaia, Nyhanva and Trondheim. In 2019, Trondheim municipality invited all the interested actors around the country to come up with their ideas and concepts to bring this ambitous dream to reality. HAVFERD AS that stands behind SALT Art & Music Oslo won the competition and got the opportunity to build and operate one of the Trondheims most anticipated pilot projects, HAVET.
