Overview

HBS Club of Philadelphia is a non-profit organization serving cross-generational HBS alumni, the school and the greater Philadelphia area for over 35 years. Our mission is to promote a local community of HBS alumni that is impactful and vested in the metropolitan Philadelphia area through programs connecting alumni and other business and community leaders in a way that: - Encourages personal growth and development - Facilitates relationships, fellowship and networking - Contributes to the local social enterprise - Creates access to community interests and resources - Supports our alma mater - Includes family members and significant others So that the alumni and local communities will be in a better position to enjoy the personal, professional, and business benefits accruing from being more vested in each other. Toward that end, the Club sponsors about 20 programs, activities and meetings each year from September through June, which include: - Monthly Presidents Breakfast Club featuring leaders from local businesses and the not-for-profit sector, - Bi-monthly social and community programs, - Occasional Resource Roundtables on varied subjects, such as career, real estate, outsourcing, and technology, - Monthly Virtual Learning Series teleconference calls featuring HBS faculty members on varied subjects, such as the financial crisis, emerging markets, social enterprise and others - Monthly informal gatherings at local venues for special interest groups e.g. healthcare The Club also sponsors the Social Enterprise Initiative, which invests in leadership capacity building for the area nonprofits. This includes funding MBA student summer internships, hosting the annual Fall leadership development conference, and sending select CEOs or Executive Directors to attend the School’s Strategic Perspectives in Non-profit Management course. This is an alumni-run page (group) and is not managed by Harvard Business School (HBS).
