Handelsverband is a 100 % independent, privately run association of about 150 retailers. We represent a high diversity of product lines as well as distribution channels (online, offline, omnichannel, direct selling etc.). The mission is to provide retailers in Austria and our members in particular with services and information that are useful for both their strategic decisions and their everyday business. As a lobbyist, Handelsverband identifies issues that matter to its members and represent them vis-à-vis political decision-makers as well as other stakeholders. The members decide on the political positions. As an information service provider, Handelsverband organises conferences, workshops and seminars, commission research projects and issues a quarterly magazine, “retail”.
