Overview

The Haifa museums contains 6 main museums: 1.The Haifa Museum of Art is one of the three great art museums in Israel. It houses contemporary Israeli and international art exhibits, viewing art as a holistic, unique, vibrant enterprise. 2.The Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art can be found high up on the Carmel Mountain and is devoted entirely to the conservation and display of Japanese objets d'art. In actual fact, it is the only museum of its kind in the Middle East. 3.The Mané-Katz Museum, located on Panorama Road overlooking the magnificent view across Haifa Bay, was opened in 1977 in the home of the artist, where he lived and created during the last years of his life. In August 2010 the Museum was integrated in the Haifa Museums complex 4.The National Maritime Museum is dedicated to teaching the history of seafaring. It documents the human side of the connection between the sea and our region, dating from ancient cultures up until our own day. 5.The Haifa City Museum was inaugurated in November 2000. The Museum is located in the former Templar school and community center buildings in the German Colony. 6.Hermann Struck's home, intended as an educational and community centre dealing with art education in general, and that of the print in particular.This museum is offering Workshops for artists involved in the craft of the print, and exhibitions of works by contemporary artists.
