Overview

The Gulf Shores City Schools serve approximately 2,500 students in one elementary school (Grades PreK-5), one middle school (Grades 6-8), one high school (Grades 9-12) and one virtual academy (Grades K-12). It is located on Alabama's Gulf Coast in the southern-most tip of Baldwin County. With an academically diverse student body, the district sets high expectations and provides opportunities for all students and faculty to reach their full potential. Our schools are driven to meet the needs of our students today and in the future by offering relevant and engaging instruction that prepares students, not only for career and college readiness but for lifelong success. We are committed to serving the needs of the whole child, which means focusing on interests, dreams and the developmental milestones of our students, from early childhood through graduation. Residents share a commitment to education as well as the arts, sports, and civic responsibility. Gulf Shores City Schools has been named the 10th-ranked school system in the state of Alabama out of 145 districts in the most recent Alabama Department of Education State Report Card.
