Overview

The Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center (GMDC) is the premier nonprofit industrial developer in New York City. Since its inception in 1992, GMDC has rehabilitated eight manufacturing buildings in New York City for occupancy by small manufacturing enterprises, artisans and artists. GMDC currently owns and manages six of these properties, the newest among them being the GMDC Ozone Park Industrial Center at 101-01 95th Avenue in Ozone Park, NY. It was a $42 million development project that included the purchase and renovation of three buildings on an entire city block adding 85,000 square feet of new industrial space to the organization’s 600,000 square foot portfolio that is home to more than 125 businesses and over 700 employees. GMDC has played a vital role in helping meet New York City’s need for affordable, flexible production space for small and medium-sized manufacturers. As long as visionary designers, committed manufacturers, and active small businesses look to grow and thrive in New York City, GMDC will be there to help them realize their ambitions.
