Overview

The Greater Cincinnati Education Network (GCEN) is a nonprofit organization based in Cincinnati, OH that exists to provide high-impact programs and initiatives that ensure educational equity — seeing to it that all students achieve their desired avenue of success and be conscious and productive contributors to their communities. Our Pillars. We EMPOWER our members to be agents of change by finding and creating opportunities where they can serve, lead, and be a part of decision making in their communities. We EDUCATE by sharing our, and providing a space where others can share their, unique experiences, challenges, perspectives, and expertise regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, religion, SES, or political affiliation. We actively TRANSFORM institutions and systems that intentionally or unintentionally affect the development and outcomes for minority or underprivileged youth. Our Programs. GCEN is responsible for Cincinnati Public Schools Speak (CPS Speaks), Young Scientist Academy, and Ubuntu Fellows. Each program is designed to fulfill a specific educational need. The pillars of GCEN are reflected in these programs and serve as the conduits through which we carry out the mission and vision. Our team is comprised of motivated volunteers who are committed to educational equity. Funding is provided in part by generous donors in the community, philanthropist, and registration fees. Overall, The Greater Cincinnati Education Network advocates for youth access to quality education, safe and nurturing environments, various career paths, and opportunities for their voices to be heard, while also encouraging youth to advocate for themselves.
