Grace Tours is an independent fully licensed tour operator based in Copenhagen. It was founded 1991 and has also a joint ownership of a South Indian travel agency and has through its involvement in Chalukya Grace Tours initiated quite a few different local development projects such as a locally run guesthouse on an island in the Backwaters, yearlong involvement with a local NGO running an orphanage and a school and a driver-training program in South India. Through its locally based company Grace Tours has also worked for equal rights for all its employees. On our tailor made tours we will normally be using small family-run hotels and guesthouses, eat in local restaurants and use local transport as much as possible. In addition all local guides and agencies used are considered friends rather than business contacts. The idea being that the visit will be rather as guests than as tourists. Our extensive knowledge of the Indian Subcontinent enables us to offer original tours itineraries providing a balance between the regions well-known “must-sees” and off-the-beaten-track “best kept secrets”. Our tours will provide a real insight – culture, history, landscapes and natural world – and provide the opportunity for genuine interaction with the local people. Grace Tours pioneered in the field of Ayurveda tours, and introduced the concept to the Danish market. Respect for local people, their cultures, traditions, religions and environment are essential to our philosophy and our tours, and we work hard to ensure our groups have a positive impact on the places and the people visited.
