Glasgow Charity Fashion Show (GCFS)

Philanthropic Fundraising Services

Overview

Glasgow Charity Fashion Show (GCFS) is produced by a dedicated team of students in order to raise funds and awareness for our annual charitable partner. Since our founding in 2014, GUCFS has raised over £240,000 for a range of local and national charities, including Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis, Refuweegee, the Glasgow's Golden Generation, Simon Community Scotland and Glasgow Woman's Aid. With over 4000 likes on Facebook and a strong presence on campus, GCFS has become an influential society within Glasgow Universities and Scotland's creative spheres. As a society, we are dedicated to championing the potential within our student body, encouraging them to innovate within the traditional framework in order to further our philanthropic activities. Throughout our fashion editorial campaigns and the show, we aim to work with Scottish photographers, make-up artists and hairdressers. This year our theme, YOUTH, was a playful campaign juxtaposed with a youthful nihilism. This was ultimately displayed in our annual in person show in February. Our 9th annual show raised £44,005.20 for our 2023 charitable partner, Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis. In February 2023, GCFS produced its largest show to date in PLATFORM Glasgow, held across two nights. Promoting the spirit of community and creativity, this event featured designers such as HKM Designer, Anna Watson, Solenn Alvarez, Fairy Tong, Pure Barkin and Luxe Rebel Leather. Sponsorship included Selective Personnel, Skypark Glasgow, Brewgooder & Redbull. GCFS has been published in nationwide publications including Harpers Bazaar, STV, Glasgow Online, as well as appearing on the Riverside Show, The Tab, The Skinny, The Daily Record, The Evening Times and the Scotland Re:Designed blog.
