Overview

Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) manages and operates the Port of Gladstone, including the Gladstone Marina and its recreational parklands, the Port of Rockhampton, the Port of Bundaberg and the Port of Maryborough (non-trading). We employ more than 700 people across the three operational precincts to operate our ship loading and train unloading facilities, carry out harbour works, quarry operations, reclamation works, general maintenance and administration. The Port of Gladstone is Queensland’s largest multi-commodity port, housing the world’s fourth largest coal export terminal. More than 30 products are handled through the Port of Gladstone including coal, bauxite, alumina and cement, which are transported to more than 30 countries. The Port of Rockhampton facilitates the import and export of niche market products including ammonium nitrate, explosives, general cargo, salt, frozen beef, tallow and scrap metal. The Port of Bundaberg ships dry and wet commodities as well as general cargo such as machinery, petroleum products and treated timber logs. Currently the Port exports bulk raw sugar and imports bulk molasses. On 1 March 2022, management of the Port of Maryborough was transferred to GPC, bringing benefits through closer geographic proximity of GPC’s existing ports and resources than those of North Queensland Bulk Ports. As a non-trading Port, GPC undertakes limited responsibilities associated with managing the Port. We are committed to the growth and development of the Central Queensland region, maintaining our focus on improving, retaining, increasing and diversifying trade through our Ports.
