Overview

Girls Driving for a Difference empowers girls to become leaders of social change through design thinking. Our journey first began with a cross-country road-trip. During the summer of 2015, our founding team of 4 young women from Stanford University trekked across the US for 14 weeks in an RV, coaching 55 of our design thinking and leadership workshops for more than 1,200 girls across 32 states. Each workshop guides girls to identify their strengths and leadership abilities, and create their own personal mission statement for improving the world. Today, our teaching materials can be found in the hands of educators, program leaders, and passionate parents around the world. Our flagship program, "Find Your Drive," comes in a box that arrives on your doorstep and includes all the info/materials you need to start teaching. "Make Your Mark" is our second workshop that builds directly onto Find Your Drive and can be downloaded online. The Girls Driving for a Difference mission is two-fold. First, we give young girls the tools, inspiration, and creative confidence to lead their own social change. Second, we partner with schools, companies, and other impact-driven organizations to train them to facilitate our workshops and lift up girls in their community.
